The Milano Sake Challenge, Italy's first sake competition, took place on 11 November 2019 at the Milano Tenoha venue in Milan, Italy.

Before the judging, Yukio Hamada, former director of the Central Association of Sake Brewers of Japan, gave a seminar to the entire jury to confirm the quality of all the sake entries and to ensure fair judging, before the judging began.

The jury was made up of a total of 71 people strongly involved in Italian food and drink, including restaurant owners, chefs, bartenders and others living in Italy who hold a sake sommelier qualification from the Italian Sake Sommelier Association.

The design jury consisted of 20 designers from a wide range of fields, divided into six groups.
