2023 - AWARDS CEREMONY

On February 16, 2024, the "Parmigiano Reggiano Special Award" ceremony for the "MILANO SAKE CHALLENGE 2023" was held at the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan in Tokyo.

For the Parmigiano Reggiano Special Award, cheeses aged for 12 months, 24 months, and 40 months were judged on their compatibility with sake. The winning sakaguras were presented with a Parmigiano Reggiano forma(equivalent to about 40 kg) by the Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Consortium. In addition, a pairing experience was held between the Parmigiano Reggiano and the winning sakes, allowing the press and sakaguras in attendance to enjoy a unique experience that combined the food cultures and traditions of both Japan and Italy.

Aged for 24 months: "Mutsu Hassen ISARIBI" (Hachinohe Shuzo Co., Ltd./Aomori)

Aged for 40 months: "Nambu Bijin All Koji 2021" (Nanbu Bijin Co., Ltd./Iwate)
